A Story for Thursday: Kitten's First Full Moon

This is a light hearted story about the adventure of a kitten in her search for a bowl of milk. Kitten mistook the moon as a bowl of milk and goes through a few challenges to reach for it. The children listening to the story had their sense of logic provoked. Some of my children kept saying, "The kitten thinks that the moon is a bowl of milk!". After a while, they said, "Kitten must be hungry", as they listened to the challenges kitten faces. Hearing that response from the children made me beam a wide smile. It was true that Kitten was hungry, which explains it determination to get the bowl of milk (the moon). But this was not revealed until much later in the story. To me, this showed that the children were processing the story further, analysing and comprehending the actions kitten took. I am truly glad because this is a developmental sign of the children's progress. The illustrations of the book were mainly black and white, simple, clean and very easy on the eyes too.
